Ritual is a key practice in all cultures, religions, and ethnic heritages. It is part of our human nature. Within each of us is a need to enter the ritual dance. What makes ritual the conduit of connection to each other and all of creation is our intention to connect with something greater than ourselves. It gives a sense of meaning to our feelings, emotions, thoughts, actions and the totality of our lives. With this understanding, all of life can be ritual and honor the sacredness of all creation.
True Ritual in all its forms expresses the highest of our human endeavors. When we consciously enact ritual, we connect with the larger picture, opening for us the mysteries: God, the mystical, the universal, the Divine, the spiritual, the Creator, or the Source. Ritual serves as the bridge, leading from the tangible to the intangible, the material to the spiritual, from creation to the Creator and Source. This is the full realization of ritual as we know it.
